Madeline Miller's Circe was published in spring 2018 and spent some time in the number one spot on the New York Times' bestseller list. This novel reimagines the character from Homer's Odyssey and makes her, rather than Odysseus, the central figure. Miller adds much that is her own to her telling, but she draws on the Odyssey (particularly book 10) and on the stories of Glaucus and Scylla from Ovid's Metamorphoses (in books 13 and 14).
