Pygmalion's story is told in book 10 of Ovid's Metamorphoses; it's just 50 lines long, and you can read it on the Poetry in Translation website. Follow up by watching one or more of these films: Pygmalion (a film version of the Shaw play), My Fair Lady, Pretty Woman, Mannequin, The Shape of Things, Lars and the Real Girl, Ex Machina, and Her. As you watch, think about the ways in which the movie is like and unlike the ancient myth.
